The Bryn Chapel Hall

Bryn Chapel Hall, Llangynin, St. Clears, Carmarthen, SA33 4JZ

Bryn Chapel Hall is located on the main road through the village of Llangynin within easy walking distance via pavements for the village residents. In 1996 the Bryn Baptist Chapel was in a state of disrepair but an European Grant was secured and the building was renovated and extended into a multi-purpose Village Hall for the whole community. New toilets, including a disabled toilet, and a new kitchen were built and the Main Hall is multi-purpose. In 2006 a new disabled access was provided to the Hall, together with an external fire door at the rear of the building, emergency lighting and a new slip-resistant floor covering for the kitchen and the entrance lobby. Wi-fi and Broadband are available at the Hall. Having secured grant-funding from the National Lottery Community Fund in March 2022 work has already started on pressure washing and painting the external walls and over the autumn and winter months the indoor walls were repainted as necessary, the kitchen was refurbished and modernised and the store room had liquid screed and vinyl flooring applied to the floor.

General Hall Information

Bryn Chapel Hall was established over 25 years ago and is an important centre for promoting local community life. The Hall is still used as a Chapel on one Sunday a month and also for other special services such as at Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas. All members of the community are welcome at these services. The village hall plays an important role in the community of Llangynin as it is the only centre of community focus, following the closure of the primary school and the village shop and post office. The Hall is used by many different clubs and societies such as the 60+ Club, the local Young Farmers Club and the Gardening Club. The Community Council and the Entertainment Committee also hold their meetings at the Hall and it is also used for local functions, events and activities, as well as gatherings as needed. The Hall is also used as the local Polling Station. The Hall and its facilities are open to all who live in the community of Llangynin and surrounding rural areas.

The Management Committee

The Hall is run by the Bryn Chapel Hall Management Committee, a small group of voluntary Trustees and committee members. The Bryn Chapel Hall Management Committee is an unincorporated not-for-profit community organisation.
